5 Chic Looks for Valentine's Day

By Michaela Advani | @TheBCBlonde

Valentine’s Day is one of the most exciting days of the year sartorially. Men break out suits they maybe dust off once or twice a year, remember how to tie a tie, and perhaps get their shoes shined professionally. For women, it’s a bit more complicated. With options ranging from full length gowns to less dressy two piece skirt and top sets there are too many options to decide between.

Fret no more! I’ve pulled together some of my favorite fashion blogger outfits from fashion blogger/beauty guru extraordinaire Amrezy that would be perfect for a Valentine’s Day date…whether it’s a formal dinner or simply going to an arcade with your sweetie. Each outfit is code named based on the type of Valentine vixen you want to be. Your special someone will fall even more head over heels, I promise!

The Bombshell

The Bombshell is an over the top glamour puss, which is why she opts for a sumptuous faux fur shrug coat in the perfect shade of pink. Paired with a blush pink sweater and white below the knee skirt...this look is sexy, sweet Valentine's day date perfection.

The Bombshell likes candlelit dinners in luxe Italian restaurants (the kind where she can make a dramatic entrance), and sipping prosecco with her sweetie. Channel her with modest but sexy body con separates in a pink, white, or red color scheme, and finish the look with the perfect berry pout and simple but statement making diamond studs.

The Sweetheart

The sweetheart is sweetly sexy and always understated with her glamour. A white and creamy color pallette keeps her looking
pristine and pretty, never too flirty. Pair a beige or nude pencil skirt with a sweet lacey white blouse, nude heels, and a conservative yet glam crisp white blazer to channel this sweet style.

The Sweetheart likes a home cooked dinner, made with love by the object of her affection. She's not too fussy, and she's a bit of a homebody at heart. Her idea of a great date on Valentine's Day is a cute cafe with window seating and a plate of chocolate covered strawberries for two.

The Div

The Diva is most at home in white and gold. She loves the dramatic, whether it's the opera or an outfit the turns heads. Channel her sexy eye-catching look by pairing a white pencil skirt with gold detailing with a bejewelled white peplum top. A metallic belt adds the final pop of metallic drama for a diva approved Valentine's Day ensemble.

The diva wants to see an opera or theatre production followed by a sumptuous dinner with her beloved. She expects red roses from her biggest fan; her Valentine.

The Guy’s Girl

The guy's girl is stylish but no nonsense. She loves a cute jeans and cami look, especially when paired with a cool jacket. This girl can pull off high  heels, but she often ops for cool boots or sneakers. A bit of a tomboy, she likes comfort and even when's she's dressed up...she's in a sleek pair of jeans.

The Guy's girl probably wants pizza and a movie for Valentine's Day, but she's not beyond going to an upscale sports bar after a delicious and romantc dinner. Her look is classic but comfortable, and never under or over dressed.

The Fashionista

The Fashionista is one fierce Valentine! Always dressed to the nines, the fashionista is a big fan of all black dressing and being draped in a cuddly faux fur shrug. She makes every best dressed list and has one enviable closet. To channel her look pair a black turtle neck with a statement making black pencil skirt and matching strappy heels. Toss on a fur shrug for the added touch of glam.

The fashionista likely wants to hit up her favorite boutique for a special little trinket, attend an art gallery showing, and then head to a quiet dinner in a gorgeous restaurant overlooking the city. She's dressed to kill, and there's no reason to waste a good outfit.
