Health Benefits of the Hibiscus Flower

If you’re breathing, sleeping, or walking to work, you’re taking in free radicals.

So, what is a free radical and what does this have to do with hibiscus flower?

It’s a molecule that can damage your body’s cells, often occurring from normal bodily functions like breathing. However, they can also come from environmental pollutants like cigarette smoke.
The damage free radicals cause has been linked to cancer and other serious diseases.

However, natural ingredients in beverages, like hibiscus flower, contain antioxidants. These antioxidants may prevent or delay some types of cell damage.

Hibiscus flowers naturally contain more antioxidants than green tea, a major standby drink for the healthy living community.  Scientific studies have shown that consumption of hibiscus tea elevates the antioxidant level of one’s bloodstream within an hour of consuming.

The benefits of Hibiscus tea don’t stop there.

It has also been proven that hibiscus can help lower blood pressure. This is significant as heart disease is the #1 killer of women.

In 2008, a report from the AHA (American Heart Association) documented benefits of hibiscus. The report stated consuming Hibiscus tea lowers blood pressure in mildly hypertensive and pre-hypertensive adults.

The antioxidant-packed hibiscus flower is one of the main ingredients in the Hibiscus Cucumber drink, one of SOCIAL’s main flavors.
